About Me

My photo
As a lover of beauty, be it flowers, a sunrise/ sunset, or a smile on a loved one's face, I have always loved creating. As a child, I was fascinated by the sky and clouds, fantasizing about all sorts of things. I guess I never lost that since of wonder and seeing the beauty in life and nature. This has led me down many a creative road and to the present and my artistic endeavors w/ mixed media, collage and jewelry design.

I decided that no one can stop me from living the life God has planned for me, but me. Family and friends have encourage me to step out on faith and so I am.

This is me earlier this month with family and friends.

Here is the first item that I listed in my Etsy store, which I call "Inspiration pins"

2010 Year's end Artistically

As another year draws to a close, through the prompting of a fellow flyer, I am sharing some of my journey since having met up with 700+ flyers who took Kelly Rae Roberts class this past Summer.
Some of the artwork seen here is from a year or two back, but have not been shared with anyone other than family or a few friends. Here goes.

Since I was a little girl, I have always loved looking at the clouds and imagining all sorts of things. I guess it was only a mattter of time before they appeared in my artwork Smiles.

I'm an addictions counselor and made was inspired to make different art pieces as encouragement to my clients and others trying to make changes in their lives. (Change is often tough for many people, me included).

Encouraging and Uplifting Art tags or bookmarks.

In light of the celebration of birth and the new babies we welcomed into our family (Some seen in previous blog entries :)) I created this 1st birthday celebration piece with "Found relatives."

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year and I have created several works ode to this time of the year.

This is a pair of simple sterling silver and aqua dangle earrings I made my niece for Christmas.

A big step for me this year was to have a booth in one of our local art and gift fairs this past November. It was kind of scary for me to put my work out there to be judge, but it has been a good and learning experience. How else will we grow and see what people are interested in or not?

A Cottage in the Woods

While visiting the home of a PGC (Peru Garden Club) member, I was totally awed and inspired by the cottage-feel of years gone by that it had. The home had once belong to beloved grandparents and exuded so much charm and character. I asked her if I could photograph her home and she agreed, so welcome to the cottage in the woods.

Well hello there, my it's been a long time.

It has been a little while since I have done a post. I've been busy contemplating my next move and told myself you have to write a post before month's end.

I've been trying to adjust my lifestyle since having found out that my glucose level is a bit high. I have had quite the sweet tooth for most of my life, so it is a big change to not be able to eat like I used to. I bought a diabetic cookbook and have trying to cook somethings out of it every week.

I made apple crisp last week and it was hit w/my family. Cutting the carbs is a challenge too and I'm trying my best to cut way back on them. The thought of the possibility of giving myself a shot is scary to me and anyone who knows me very well, knows how afraid I am of needles.

Ok here are a couple of update pics of my cute little nieces!!!

Come on, Come on, Come On....

Okay. So here it is the 1at of August 2010 and while I have felt sick most of the week, my spirits have been lifted when I check out what is happening in other people's creative lives.

I'm always thinking of how words and art work together and so when it popped into my head: Take it, take another little piece of my art now baby.. For most of my life music has been a big part of it.

I know that we all are lovers of different kind of music and even songs we don't even like, we seem to know the words to. Hmm why is that?

I would like to share a few pieces of recent artwork and works of nature.
